Lesson EDT 12: (NIGHT DRIVING)
When you have done lesson 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th & 7th & 8th EDTs with an ADI
(Approved Driving Instructor) . You can do lessons 9, 10, 11, & 12 EDTs in the order to suit you.
After taking 8hrs EDT & practice, you should be able to drive with a minimum of instruction & will be able to take on tuition from dusk to dawn. The objective of lesson 12 are:
- Use your vehicle lights correctly:
- Respond correctly to the light of other road users.
You should also be able to maintain full control of the vehicle while:
- Driving through traffic in the dark;
- Or poor lighting conditions
The lesson will be conducted in in a variety of road conditions, including urban & rural roads with interaction with other roads users.
At the end of the tuition you should be able to drive safely in the dark in lighted & poor lighting area. Describe the symptoms of poor night visions & how to deal with it. You also should be able to deal with vehicle lighting & appropriate response to other vehicle lightning, including emergency vehicle lightning as well.
At the end of 12th EDT lesson, your log book will be stamped & your EDT lesson will be logged in the RSA Portal. As the EDT lesson 12th can be challenging & that you are struggling with lesson it; maybe more practice with an ADI, your sponsor, or both would be advisable. (The RSA are recommending 3 hours tuition between each EDT). If you need more help on EDT you can email me for further details on francis@castletownsom.com.
((PS): if you have no car to practice or that you cannot have another driving lesson before your next EDT, maybe you should consider having your EDT lessons close from one to another, in order to pick up driving skills quickly. When you accomplished your 12 EDTs, make sure that they are all logged in the RSA portal. If you have some lesson which are not logged in, the RSA will not provide you with a date for your Driving Test.
