EDT Lesson 3: CHANGING DIRECTION 1

Lesson 3: (CHANGING DIRECTION 1)

When you will start your lesson 3 (3rd EDT), with your Approved Driver Instructor (ADI), you should already have achieved lesson 1st EDT & 2nd EDT successfully.

Your next objective for the 3RD EDT, you should be able to drive in light traffic situations to cover MSMM (Mirror, Signal, Mirror, Manoeuvre ) routine.

You also should be able to cover basic techniques when. Moving off; GOSH (Gear, Observation, Signal, Hand brake). Use mirrors appropriately when;

  1. Turning at junctions left & right;
  2. Negotiating junctions left & right;
  3. Turning at roundabout & negotiating roundabout;

The outcome of EDT lesson 3 is that you should have learned to:

  • Use mirrors in good time
  • Turning right & left,
  • At junctions,
  • Negotiating a roundabout.

When the vehicle is on moving motion be aware as well of blind spot & how to compensate for them. You should be able to check that you are able to take safety glance when:

  • Moving off;
  • Turning;
  • At junctions:
  • And negotiating roundabout.

At the end of 3rd EDT lesson, log book will be stamped & your EDT lesson will be logged in the RSA Portal. As the EDT lesson 3rd can be challenging & that you are struggling with lesson it; maybe more practice with an ADI, your sponsor, or both would be advisable. (The RSA are recommending 3 hours tuition between each EDT).

(((PS): if you have no car to practice or that you cannot have another driving lesson before your next EDT, maybe you should consider having  your EDT lessons close from one to another, in order to pick up driving skills quickly.
