When you have done lesson 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th & 7th & 8th EDTs with an ADI
(Approved Driving Instructor) . You can do lessons 9, 10, 11, & 12 EDTs in the order to suit you.
After taking 8hrs EDT & practice, you should be able to drive in fast–moving traffic or where speeds are highly variable. For example, you should be able to drive where there are changing speed limits or variable traffic conditions. You should also be able to drive independently.
Objective of lesson 11.
For most of this lesson you should be driving independently & making your own decisions. As a result you may will be; Frustrated; Exasperated & feel threatened.
If you are not fit for this lesson, as an ADI, I will give as much as needed.
Topic of lesson 11:
1) Joining busy main roads:
2) Entering junctions while driving independently;
3) Simulating the stalling & re-starting vehicle.
4) Parking on a road with significant numbers of parked car & moderate traffic volumes.
5) Also, planning for a journey; fitness of the passengers to travel & safe loading of vehicles.
If you are struggling with lesson 11 (EDT), maybe more practice with an ADI, your sponsor, or both would be advisable as lesson 11 is very challenging (the RSA are recommending 3 hours tuition between each EDT).
If you need more help on EDT you can email me for further details on francis@castletownsom.com.
